The story of Easter didn't begin in a garden in Jerusalem; it began centuries earlier in the promises of the Old Testament. This reading guide bridges the gap between ancient prophecy and New Testament fulfillment. Each day, you will see how Jesus’s final steps were the culmination of God’s long-standing plan to redeem his people. We invite you to reflect, pray, and act as we witness the King of Glory reclaim His world.

Start Here

Prepare The Space: Find a quiet place free of distractions.

Prepare Your Heart: Pray and ask God to hive you understanding in what you will read.

Prepare Your Thoughts: Keep a journal/notebook handy to organize your thoughts. List items you want to research further.

Palm Sunday
Zechariah 9:9-12

Call to Action: Identify one area of your life where you have been trying to "rule" yourself. Lay that "palm branch" at Jesus' feet today and acknowledge Him as King.

Prayer: Lord Jesus, I welcome You into my life today. Be the King of my heart, my home, and my future. Hosanna in the highest! Amen.

Monday
Matthew 21:12-17

Application: Jesus cleansed the Temple of distractions. Take 15 minutes today to sit in total silence, removing digital distractions to make room for God’s presence.

Prayer: Holy Spirit, search my heart. Cleanse me of anything that hinders my worship or blocks my connection to you. Amen.

Tuesday
John 12:20-36

Application: Choose one act of selfless service today - something that requires you to “die to self” to help someone else.

Prayer: Father, give me the courage to follow Jesus’ example of sacrifice. Help me to find life by giving it away in service to others. Amen.

Wednesday
Matthew 26:6-16

Application: Evaluate your priorities. Ask yourself: “Is there anything I am valuing more than my relationship with Christ?” What are you are grateful for about Jesus’ character?

Prayer: Lord, let my devotion be like the costly perfume poured out in love, rather than a heart that seeks its own gain. You are my greatest treasure. Amen.

Thursday
Mark 14:22-25

Application: Take a routine part of your day (like a coffee break or a meal) and invite someone else to join you, sharing that time as a way to build community and connection.

Prayer: Lord, thank You for the New Covenant. As I break bread today, remind me that my life is meant to be shared and poured out for others. Amen.

Good Friday
Isaiah 53:1-5

Application: Between the hours of 12pm and 3pm (the traditional hours of the Crucifixion), fast from a meal or social media to reflect on the price paid for your freedom.

Prayer: Precious Savior, I stand humbled by the Cross. Thank you for bearing my sin and my shame so that I could know Your peace. It is finished, and I am grateful. Amen.

Saturday
Psalm 31:9-14

Applicaiton: Identify something in your life you are currently waiting for. Practice "active waiting" by choosing to trust God’s timing even when He seems silent.

Prayer: Lord, even in the silence, You are working. Give me the strength to wait with hope and the faith to trust You in the "tomb" moments of my life. Amen.

Easter
Matthew 28:1-10

Application: Celebrate! Call or text someone in Your World and share the hope of the Resurrection with them.

Prayer: Almighty God, the grave is empty and Jesus is alive! I Celebrate the victory over death and the new life I have in You. Hallelujah! Amen.
